For the removal of asbestos cement (AC) pipes in the water industry the ICS PowerGrit was has been tested and is recommended by the HSE.
Trials showed that the 890PG saw kept the fibre levels below the control limit making it the best method of cutting asbestos cement and pitch fibre water and sewer pipes. The saw can be used free hand or can also be used with a pipe clamp for an even safer method.

The hydraulic PowerGrit saws are suitable for cutting AC pipe because they utilise a water flushing system at all times, being hydraulic there is no exhaust to blast the particles into the atmosphere, chain speed is relatively slow at 30m/sec which again limits throw off. PowerGrit chain has a coating of diamond grit which grinds the material being cut.
The ICS 890 Hydraulic PowerGrit saw offers a safe and rapid method for cutting Asbestos, Ductile Iron, Cast, HDPE, MDPE and PVC pipe. By simply changing the chain for a diamond segmented chain you can then cut reinforced concrete, brick and block.
